All proceeds from this year’s festival will go towards supporting education, conservation, and sanctuary establishment/maintenance programs facilitated by the San Diego Audubon Society. Kuumba Fest 2020 – The Celebration Continues

With African American History Month coming to a close, San Diego’s longest-running festival and celebration of African American culture, heritage, and expression is once again coming to the main stage with Kuumba Fest 2020. Come expand your knowledge about African American history through educational workshops, celebrate those that have made inroads in supporting and uplifting our community through community leadership awards, watch and listen to dramas and poetry, view traditional African art and pageantry, and enjoy an African marketplace during this three-day festival (Friday through Sunday). Located at the San Diego Repertory Theatre, make sure to pick up tickets or a three-day pass to the entire event before tickets run out.

Saturday, February 29th

Brews and Bacon

With one pass you will have access to a mind-blowing array of beer and food during this year’s Mission Valley Craft Beer and Food Festival. Joining forces with the San Diego Bacon Fest, this year’s brews have the perfect pairing for a day that will be sure to have you salivating over savory flavors. Sip on some craft ales and munch on crispy strips of bacon and bacon-themed items from 1 – 5 pm this Saturday at the SDCCU Stadium. For tickets and information on VIP entry, click over to the MVCBF website.

Race for the Gold

Race through the forest during this year’s Sycamore Canyon Trail Races through the Goodan Ranch Sycamore Canyon Preserve. Tired of plodding along on pavement? Take on this half marathon, 50K, or 100K race (solo or relay) and get into the wild as you carve through a gorgeous East County route. Registration is almost up, so make sure you get your name down for this event before it speeds past – note that 100K solo runners must demonstrate that they have already completed one or more 50K+ races in the past.

Have a great time out there San Diegans and remember to Live Long in SD!
