We are in the midst of the holiday crush with today marking the beginning of Hanukkah and Christmas two days away. Being on the cusp of the biggest holidays in the year, and one week out from New Year’s Eve, there is a lot to pack into already busy schedules. However, if you are finding yourselves wanting for some activities to spread some extra holiday cheer and/or attend to make new memories with your visiting family and friends, look no further than this week’s Out and About in San Diego.
Christmas Celebrations to Remember
Seaport Village Santa Creation Station
Running until Christmas Eve, you have two more days to make your way to Seaport Village to visit Santa and his elves before they pack up shop and set off on their world-wide delivery route. Come in and take photos with Santa and his elves while making ornaments and other holiday crafts. Holiday movies and other special events will be taking place, so you will not want to miss out on the fun! For those feeling like Cindy Lou Who, make sure to spread your cheer to those that are not as fortunate by bringing Toys for Tots and donating them at the event.
Cetaceans and Pinnipeds and Rides, Oh My!
Come out for hair-raising rides, thrilling live shows, festive food, seasonal gifts, and gorgeous displays during Sea World’s Christmas Celebration. Come dressed in your ugliest sweaters while you take a ride on Sea World’s newest roller coasters or dive into a show with the park’s headlining performers. This year’s Christmas Celebration will be running through January 5th, so you still have plenty of time to plan your next trip.
Stacking up Blocks of Fun
Running through the end of the month, Legoland will be ringing in the holidays with fun shows, holiday-themed rides, and decor for the whole family. Come see the 30-foot Lego Christmas tree decorated in special Lego ornaments while it sparkles and shines with music and light at night. Pick up special holiday Legos for last-minute gifts or to trim next year’s tree and enjoy everything else the park has to offer.
Have a Roaring Christmas
Running through the 5th of January, there is still time to grab your tickets and get to the San Diego Zoo for a magical winter Jungle Bells celebration. Jungle Bells brings lighted animal sculptures, dazzling nighttime winter displays, music, limited holiday treats, Santa Claus, and a holiday snow globe perfect for your Insta feed. Enjoy this holiday fun and more when you head down to the zoo this Christmas!
Sprinting into the Holiday Spirit
Looking to work off those holiday calories decked out in holiday splendor? Make sure to register now and then head down to the San Diego Harbor Front for the Holiday Bowl 5K Run/Walk and Parade on the 26th. Don your new running wear while taking in the beautiful shoreline and floats, bands, and huge balloons during the holiday parade before the big game kicks off on the 27th. Marching bands, drill teams, and your favorite cartoon animals will be lining the streets to build up anticipation for the faceoff between the Iowa Hawkeyes and USC Trojans.

Calling all Motorheads!
For 5 days, the San Diego International Auto Show will be showcasing the latest crop of cars and trucks to be gracing showrooms in the next two years. With over 400 vehicles and 30 manufacturers, this is your chance to see and sit in rare and exciting cars before they hit showrooms. Concept cars will also be gracing the conference center floor, so you will not want to miss your opportunity to check out these amazing autos before you will only be able to see them in pictures.
