Restaurant Week Returns!
Dine ’til you drop with over 180 participating restaurants in the San Diego area. Prix-fixe menus to salivate over will be popping up on special menus for lunch and dinner from the South Bay, East County, to Oceanside, Fallbrook, and further to the north through the 26th. Calling All Golf Fanatics
It’s that time again for the PGA TOUR to return to San Diego for the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course. Home of the 2008 and upcoming 2021 US Open, why watch online or on your TV when you can see the pros in action right in your backyard? With less than two days to go before the start of the event, make sure you get your tickets before they are sold out. Make Your Home and Yard Pop
Undertaking a reno for your home or looking for ideas on how to redecorate your home’s interior? What about injecting some life into dull landscaping or your worn-out patio furniture? The Winter Home and Backyard Show will be coming to the Del Mar Fairgrounds from Friday through Sunday and exhibitors from throughout the home and garden industry will be here for all your home improvement needs. Admission to the show is free and open to all, so make a list of what you’d like to tackle, bring your blueprints, and get to work! As an extra draw, some exhibitors will be offering discounts for products, consultations, and/or services to those who attend.
Ring in the New Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year is this Saturday, so to mark the occasion, Mira Mesa Community Park is turning into a giant festival and carnival! From Friday (starting at 5 pm) through Sunday the 2020 San Diego TET Festival presented by the Vietnamese American Youth Alliance will be celebrating by showcasing homeland traditions in this rich cross-cultural experience. Enjoy and take part in traditional Vietnamese song, dance, and displays, while eating traditional foods and surveying special merchandise for the event. Saturday, January 25th
Welcome in the Year of the Rat
With additional celebrations kicking off in February, come out to Balboa Park at the International Cottages to experience traditional dance, food, song, and more during Chinese New Year celebrations running from Saturday through Sunday. Munch on some delicious steaming bao or potstickers as you bring in a year of good fortune and contentment. Hui! Holoholo to the Ocean
Come down to Bonita Cove in Mission Bay Park this Saturday for the Hanohano Huki Ocean Challenge. One of the longest-running paddling races in California, beginners to top-level athletes ranging from age 7 through 80 will be taking their OC-1s, surfskis, paddleboards, SUPs, and kayaks to try and paddle their ways to victory. Make sure to register and check out event details before heading towards the shore, as some meals and items will be for purchase with cash. Dog Parents, Stay. Cat Lovers, This is for You
Running from Saturday through Sunday, the Del Mar Fairgrounds will be welcoming the largest cat show on the West Coast. With over 450 cats from more than 42 breeds in competition, this is the Super Bowl of Cat Competition. In addition to high-level competition, vendors, exhibitors, educators, and adoption agencies will be present to make you purr with excitement. Stargaze with Experts
Are you a stargazing beginner looking to learn more about the depths of space? Take a trip up the coast to Double Peak Park in San Marcos where you’ll be able to pick up beginner astronomy concepts, facts, principles, and gaze upon constellations bright in the night sky. Running from 5:30 – 7 pm, you’ll be treated to the flying horse, dragon, and bear constellations and you’re guided through learning more about the world above us during Star Walk XI.
