Monday, October 14th

Rock out to Almost Famous

Kicking off on Sunday, Almost Famous is coming to The Old Globe theater from October 13th through the 27th. Rollback to 1973 with this rock-and-roll musical from Cameron Crowe, directed by Tony Award-winning Jeremy Herrin, featuring new music by the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tom Kitt. San Diego International Film Festival

Enjoy the best of over 200 filmmakers from around the world descending on San Diego from the 15th through the 20th. Don’t miss your chance to see the globe through the lens of these renowned cinematographers. Make sure to plan out your week and acquire your festival passes before spots fill up! Run with the Bulls!

Support Local Ladies at the Lake Fall Market!

Looking to get your gift shopping done early or just want to browse uniquely crafted items from in and around San Diego? Local women in business will be selling clothing, jewelry, health and beauty items, and holiday gifts from 9 am to 2 pm at the Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve this Saturday. Triathlon Challenge

The San Diego Triathalon Challenge is back for its 26th year in La Jolla. For those up to the challenge, participants will undertake a 1-mile swim, 44-mile bike ride, and 10-mile run, all the while supporting the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) mission of empowering individuals living with physical challenges through sports. SaltDOG Classic

Get your charity on and support the Rancho Coastal Humane Society on the 20th with live music, food, drinks, art, beach games, and a tiki bar. This family-friendly event in the sun will be running from 11 am to 6 pm. Click here to learn more and get into some fun!

Crystal Ball of the Future

Harvest Howl

Come out for the Hollywood Harvest Howl on Thursday the 24th at 6 pm. Being held at The Abbey in San Diego (2825 5th Ave.) and hosted by the Metro Area Real Estate Professionals for Young Adult Housing (MARYAH), this event will be raising money to support the San Diego LGBT Community Center’s Youth Housing Project. Donn your best Hollywood glam and come enjoy food tastings, a silent auction, and live entertainment while helping fund initiatives helping homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ and HIV+ youth secure safe housing. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased here.

Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld

Fall fun at SeaWorld returns through the 27th of October with a clowny sea lion and otter show, costume dance party, a festive Sesame Street-themed parade, and the safe-for-everyone trick-or-treating. Plus, the all-new Gall Festival at the Waterfront is open featuring a hay maze, games, and treats for all. One child (aged 3 to 9) gets free admission with one full-priced adult admission. Brick-or-Treat at Legoland

North Park Day of the Dead Festival

Celebrate National Day of the Dead (several days early) with a North Park celebration on the 26th. Come out to honor and celebrate the lives of our loved ones who have passed during these colorful festivities. Crafts, face painting, music, and educational events will be plentiful. Little Italy Trick-or-Treats

This fun and safe Halloween event on October 25th – now in its 12th year! – makes it possible for urban families to enjoy authentic trick-or-treating fun. Little Italy businesses along historic India Street open their doors to give out candy and Halloween treats. Click here to learn more.
